Michel Buri
Michel Buri (b. 1938) is a Geneva-based architect, museographer and member of the Federation of Swiss Architects (FAS). He studied Interior Architecture at the École des Arts Décoratifs in Geneva, graduating in 1959. From 1966 to 1996, he worked in partnership with the architect and sculptor Serge Candolfi. Throughout his career, he has developed a distinctive practice at the intersection of architecture, museography and exhibition design.
Alongside the design of private residences and institutional buildings, as well as the restoration and adaptation of listed buildings, Buri has cultivated a thoughtful approach to integrating contemporary interventions within historic architectural settings. His work is characterised by a sensitive dialogue between existing structures and new design, balancing respect for architectural heritage with the demands of contemporary use.
